The Granary And Grove

The Granary and Grove is a property run by three generations of family. They produce olives and olive oil from their grove. But it is the grandchildren who run the roadside stall.
Meet Mabelle, Weston & Keaton
These cheeky and delightful children were more than happy to mug for a few photos. They also insisted on having their photos taken with our dogs, Lola and Poppy. (You might have seen the dogs in a few posts already.)
Like a lot of roadside stalls, the stall produces pocketmoney. The money from this stall goes toward keeping the children in gelato and colouring-in books.
I got the impression that Mabelle was the boss and the younger boys were busy enjoying themselves. And the gelato. Though I’m sure they all pitch in the maintain this lovely roadside stall.
Olive Oil, Herbs, Flowers & Eggs
The highlight here was the inclusion of olive oil in the stall. From the gates of the property where the stall is located you can just about make out the olive grove. It’s wonderful to be able to buy something and not just know where it came from but be able to see it too. We can attest to the quality of the oil. It’s great for salads and skincare. Too good to cook with I’d think.
We also bought a little posy of flowers, some herbs and fruit. We didn’t get eggs because we have chickens at home. (Though truth be told, we stopped for eggs at a stall on the way home. We only have two chickens and who can pass up a roadside stall?)
How To Find The Granary & Grove Roadside Stall
The stall is located down a dead-end road out the back of Canungra. If you’re weekending or day tripping from Gold Coast or Brisbane, it’s not that far away. Canungra is always busy with motorbikes and other day trippers. If you continue from Canungra to Beaudesert you’ll need to detour about ten minutes off the Beaudesert – Nerang Road into Biddaddaba. It’s beautiful countryside and you’ll be glad you did. You can do a loop around to Beaudesert or you you can stop at the Boyland Road Eggs And Plants stall.
We’re told that, despite being down a deadend road, the stall gets lots of traffic. It’s horse country around there and there’s an important horse thingy down the end. (Sorry, not a horse person myself.) Enough people go by to keep the stall busy. I’m sure they’d love to see some new faces though so if you’re in the area you should drop in.
